Scoring Points

Points for the TopCat rating are awarded for each title received by a participant at a show held within the rating system.

Points scored on a show are multiplied by a that show's category multiplier.
Points are accumulated throughout the astronomical year.
At the beginning of each year, previous year's results are tallied, and the leaderboard with best cats, breeders and catteries are nominated.

Only cats with verified and fully completed (photo is required) TopCat profile may appear on the leaderboard. The verification request must be applied before December 31 of current rating year. Only requests submitted through Top Cat app or web interface are rating-enabled, otherwise we do not have person's concern and may not process their data, including their cats' score calculation.

Scoring rules do not change throughout the rating year.

The exhibition report (all protocols) must be uploaded within 10 days of the exhibition in the designated place.

Corrections to show results may only be accepted during 2-month period after the last show day, but not after January 15th of the next rating year.

If proofs of tampering with rating algorithms surface, the show in question may receive a point multiplier of 0.
Evidence will be reviewed on a per-case basis. Guilty will be sanctioned.

It is imperative that show protocols are uploaded at manager's interface dedicated section.

Only participants with 300 or more points are ranked.

Best in Show

All shows have a standard coefficient of 1, except for the Club's Anniversary Show (x2), "Golden Cat Russia" (x2), and the TopCat FINAL (x3).

Important Notice!

  • Points earned by participants at the national TopCat Final Show are subject to a multiplier and are doubled (x2).
  • Points earned by participants at the international TopCat Final Show are subject to a multiplier and are tripled (x3).

Attention!
The Best in Show procedure, including the number of coat groups, is determined and regulated by the show organizers!

The best cats in each class (Litter, Kitten, Junior, Neuter, Veteran) are selected separately, and the best Adult cats are selected separately, with placement in the Best of Best ranking.

Litter Category
In the Litter category, one best litter is chosen from all presented (age category: 3-6 months).

  • Best Litter = 50 points.

or:

  • Best Litter I = 50 points.
  • Best Litter II = 40 points.
  • Best Litter III = 30 points.
  • Best Litter IV = 20 points.

Categories: Kitten (3-6), Junior (6-10), Neuter, Veteran, HHP
Best in Show titles are awarded in the categories:
Kitten (3-6 months), Junior (6-10 months), Neuter-Kitten (3-6 months), Neuter-Junior (6-10 months), Neuter (10+ months), Veteran (8+ years), Veteran Neuter (8+ years), House Hold Pet (SLH, SH).

Schemes are presented below:

Category: Kitten (3-6), Junior (6-10)

    • Neuter
    • Veteran

    • Household Pet

  1. Adult Category

Please, note
that that the Best in Show procedure is determined and monitored by show organizers (including the number of hair groups)!

Adult cats are divided into the following hair groups within Best in Show:
-LH (longhair)
-SLH (semi-longhair)
-SH (shorthair)
-SIA/ORI (siamese oriental shorthair)
-HL (hairless)

If there are less than 10 participants in a main category (LH, SLH, SH, SIA/ORI), the categories are merged in the following manner:
- LH and SLH
- SOSH and SH
- HL and SIA/ORI

If a monobreed show is held on an exhibition, and there are more than 10 pets of that breed, this group may be presented in BiS as a separate category (this should be negotiated with licensing responsible organisation).

As such, more than standard 5 hair groups may take part in Best in Show, and if so: cats are given places (e.g. I, II, III, ... VII etc) and opposite sex are awarded a title in their group.

Best Supreme and Best General winners may be selected on a show.

  • Show hosts choose whether or not to have Best Supreme and Best general award at a given show, this is not obligatory;
  • If show hosts choose to have these awards at the show - participants should be notified beforehand.
  • Winners and given awards should be recorded and documented during the show.

Fun-Show

Not all Fun-Shows count towards the Top Cat rating. Only Fun-Shows that meet the following parameters are counted in the Top Cat rating:

The 10 best animals are selected BASED ON THE SUM OF THEIR BREED QUALITIES. Selecting the best based on a single trait—such as tail length, eye size/brightness/expressiveness, charisma, playfulness, or "facial expression"—is not permitted.

  1. Only animals that have undergone judging can participate in a Fun-Show. Animals entered in an advertisement class or that have not been judged cannot take part.
  2. The title of the Fun-Show must fully reflect the principle for selecting participants.Fun-Shows must be selected based on breed characteristics (no more than 2 characteristics in one show):
    • by color / colors;
    • by pattern (one characteristic);
    • by breed / breeds;
    • by coat length / type;
    • by eye color (one characteristic);
    • by sex (one characteristic);
    • by breed origin (one characteristic);
    • "Rare Breeds" — no more than 4 representatives of that breed at the show;
    • "Club Cup". Only cats whose profile lists the club organizing the show may participate. A club may hold such a show once a year. A cat may participate in such a show once a year. Points are awarded according to Super-ring rules. Prior approval from TOP CAT support is required: support@top-cat.org no later than one week before the start of the show.
    • All other variants (Republic Cup, Regional Cup, etc.) must be agreed upon in advance with support: support@top-cat.org.
  3. Holding duplicate shows (2 shows per day with the same title) is not allowed.
  4. Fun-Show protocols must be uploaded to the "Documents" section.
  5. Fun-Show points are only counted from shows held using the Top-Cat system.
  • Minimum number of participants in a Ring and Fun-Show – 4.
  • Maximum number of prize places – 10.

Points in rings are awarded depending on the number of cats (cat count) in the ring.

Attention!
Holding several competitions (Ring, Special Show, and Fun Show) with essentially identical groups of participants is not permitted. Top-Cat reserves the right to remove duplicated competitions.
